TEAM 8235 IN ACTION

OUR TEAM

Overall Project Coordinator: Keertana Avadhanula

Keertana was the one who discovered FIRST as an organisation, after hearing its mention in an address by our principal. Her interest piqued, she is the one who brought our team together, and as a mediator, dispute-settler, and capable programmer, has been selected to be our overall coordinator. Not only this, but she is a class topper, a skilled dancer, and close to a prodigy at age 15 years.

Overall Project Coordinator: Aditya Prabakaran

Aditya was one of the first members to join our team. With an interest in robotics and computer science, as well as history and foreign affairs, he expanded his knowledge base through his participation in the FRC. His all-round ability despite his young age of 14 has been beneficial to us in our journey through the competition.

Technical Coordinator: Prashant Iyer

Aged 16, Prashant is the oldest team member, and possibly the most influential in the programming field. His expertise in construction and coordination in fastening electrical components all have contributed to his capability in his position. Not only this, but he is affluent in history, the sciences, and international affairs.

Non-Technical Coordinator: Saarthak Wadhwani

Saarthak is a 14 year old team member whose tireless work towards the autonomous code has led to its completion, almost solely done by him. His non-technical abilities far surpass this, as he supervised the completion of several outreach projects around the world. His interest in the sciences, especially technological, have resulted in his undying dedication to our project and cause.

Construction Coordinator: Dhruv Sharma

Sometimes, being forceful is efficient, as in the case of Dhruv. His powerful, take-charge personality caused a near tripling of efficiency in our construction, and may also be why he remains one of the most recognised people throughout our school. Not only this, but his proficiency as a goalkeeper in football has also made his name around school sports teams.

Design Coordinator: Madhav Lodha

Madhav is also a founding member of Beyond the Flames. It was he who recruited 15 of us, and his unconditional love for robotics has propelled our robot from a stack of aluminium to what it is now. His interests lie within the technological field, and his potential is strong at his young age of 14.

Programming Coordinator: Arush Rastogi

Arush was born in Chicago in 2005, but fortunately for our team, moved to Singapore soon after! His dedication and creation of major parts of code have directly led to our robot’s success during the tests. Being a fan of Star Wars, he has enjoyed this year’s theme, even suggesting certain aspects of our design based on it. Moreover, he is a badminton all-star, member of our school’s badminton team U-16 division.

Electrical Coordinator: Rohan Shekar

Among the older members of our team, Rohan has sacrificed significant study time for his preliminary examinations before his 10th-Grade Boards, all in the name of FRC. His dedication to robotics almost rivals that of his dedication to basketball, as his proficiency caused him to be a leading member of our school basketball team.

Safety Coordinator: Sanika Sonpethkar

A central role in the FRC, Sanika has drafted a vast safety manual and ensures no hands are chopped off here! Her contributions to construction of certain mechanisms are not forgotten either, neither is her dedication. Along with another team member, Ishita, she is part of the national womens’ cricket team of Singapore, a skill that rivals her skill in robotics.

Outreach Coordinator: Vansh Sansanwal

Putting FRC before his studies, 15-year-old Vansh has been present at nearly all outreach events within Singapore that we have conducted. His interests include the medical sciences, with his aspirations to become a prominent doctor, and football, being a forward in the schools’ football team.

Outreach Coordinator: Aarushi Dahiya

Aarushi is the youngest member of our group, aged just 13 years. Her continuous support despite her move from Singapore to Dubai has been invaluable to our team’s outreach capability. She has also contributed to the programming aspects, and the presentation to be done at Sydney at the Pit. She loves mathematics and robotics, reading and the English language, and is a Star Wars fan, much like Arush.

Fundraising Coordinator: Aadit Mital

Aadit has been among the most dedicated and proficient members of our team. Despite this, robotics is not even one of his strengths! He joined FRC to build up an interest, a fine addition to his collection including football, basketball, guitar, and the languages.

Fundraising Coordinator: Ishita Shukla

With her excellent public speaking skills, and coordination with corporate sponsors, she spearheaded the presentations made to most of our sponsors. Alongside robotics, her interests lie in the world of cricket, where she belongs to the national womens’ team in Singapore.

Relations Coordinator: Aryaman Verma

Aged 15, Aryaman has been influential in coordinating with our school-based mentors, as well as with external sponsors and potential outreach venues. Involved in the construction of the chassis and other mechanisms, he is a jovial presence in our team, with a plethora of jokes at the ready. He also enjoys football and is fluent in the language of mathematics.

Relations Coordinator: Nikita Kannan

Nikita’s collaboration with Aryaman in relations, her extensive research on the technicalities of certain components according to FIRST, and her contributions in construction have proved invaluable through our journey. Nikita herself is an intelligent girl who enjoys reading, dancing, and travelling, and also plays badminton for the school team. She also takes part in competitive swimming, although unaffiliated with our school since we do not have a swim team.

Logistics Coordinator: Jaiz Jeeson

Another 10th grader without anxiety for his Boards, Jaiz has been a much-needed presence in the mechanisms and electrical assembly. As logistical coordinator, he collaborated with the school and parents to ensure our entire team could go to Sydney for participation in the regionals, carefully tabulating costs and figures. He loves all of the sciences, and enjoys the occasional game of football.

Website Coordinator: Kabir Gupta

Kabir was the one who set up the website, promoting our team across the internet. His undying love for robotics has been invaluable in the construction of the chassis and other mechanisms. He enjoys football and tennis alike, having a strong competitive spirit through all he does.

Photo/Videography Coordinator: Jaiveer Singh Khurana

Never seen without a camera around his neck, Jaiveer is a 15-year-old budding photographer, an interest that just surpasses robotics. His presence through all team events and milestones has allowed them to not only be documented, but uploaded onto our YouTube channel and social media accounts, through his numerous candid images. His love for food is balanced by his love for badminton, keeping him healthy.

Social Media Coordinator: Tarun Kailasanathan Shankar

Tarun was the drill of our team, a tank throughout the construction process. His invaluable contributions to the construction of all mechanisms and components was intangible to our team’s success, just as much as his managing of our social media pages. He also takes pride in his encompassing historical and musical knowledge, and in his competitive nature and love for sports.

Documentation Coordinator: Yashas Ramakrishnan

Yashas is 14 years old, documentation coordinator for his proficiency in the English Language. His central contribution to Beyond the Flames lies ahead - the journal, a reasonable piece of writing for his standard. He has also managed the Facebook page, and performed a few construction tasks as per required. His interests lie across all academic subjects - from geography and politics to history and economics. As he seeks to improve upon his scientific and linguistic base, he travels the world and the seven seas, FRC being his gateway to scientific experience. He also enjoys football, weightlifting, and debate, using his progressive views as a base for victory in controversial topics.
